It not only reveals but conferreth Salvation: ’Tis according to the Gospel-Rule we are saved from the Guilt of our Sins by Faith in Jesus Christ, and his Sacrifice: ’Tis the blessed Channel wherein is conveyed to us the regenerating Grace of God, and so we are saved from the Dominion of our Sins, being born again of the incorruptible Seed of the Word of God. Our Progress in Holiness is carried on too by Means of the Gospel; ’tis the sincere Milk of the Word by which we grow. In a Word, the compleat Bliss is conferred upon Men, according to this Revelation of the Mind of God at that solemn Day, when God shall judge of the Secrets of Men by the Gospel.
