Where there is this experimental knowledge, that man's heart is as it were the Bible's counterpane. The Scripture is the original, and his heart is the copy of it. He can read over the Promises, the Threatenings, and can say, Probatum est. David in his Psalms, Paul in his Epistles, speak that man's heart, feel that man's temptations, make that man's objections.
