Let us never forget that there is no standard of truth, and no authority in divine things, but the Word of God given by inspiration of his Spirit. There we have a "sure word," and nowhere else,—addressed as God's message to man for the obedience of faith. Whatever that may be for which equal claims are set up, and whoever may be the advocates of those claims, let us sternly reject all; for even though assuming the appearance of angels of light, their cause cannot be of God, but must be of the wicked one.
