Surely if your Faith is of this Nature and Kind, and hath this pure and heavenly Influence, you have good Reason to conclude, it is the Faith of God’s chosen, and shall Issue in the eternal Salvation of your Souls. But on the other Hand, if your Faith purely arises from Education-principles, only exists in your Understandings, and hath never reached your Hearts, if they are yet under the Reign and Dominion of Sin, and you obey it in the Lusts thereof, are destitute of Love to God, to Christ, to his sincere and humble Followers, and to your Neighbours; have no sincere Subjection of Heart to the supreme Authority of Jesus, and no sincere Obedience there, nor in your Lives to his Commands; you assuredly are as yet Strangers to the Faith as it is in Jesus, the Faith which subsists in all his true Disciples.
