The atonement of Jesus is quite perfect; so that when a penitent sinner trusts to it, and it alone, it brings him near to God; his sins are all forgiven; his heart is changed; his conscience is purged. Think, then, think much of the atonement of Jesus. See Him with the eye of faith dying on the cross; listen to the solemn, but blessed cry, “It is finished!” If you are not forgiven, think of Christ, your High Priest; fly to the fountain opened for sin and uncleanness; pray, that His precious blood may be sprinkled upon your heart: then, and not till then, you will be happy and peaceful.
