I went to God with these words which Moses made use of for the Church of the Jews, when the Lord seemed to be angry with them, that he would "remember his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Israel:" I thought Scotland had a good right to these promises, and I begged for Christ's sake, that he would remember our Abrahams, Isaacs, and Israels that had entered into a covenant with him, and had contended for the faith delivered unto them, and some of them had sealed it with their blood. And while I was pouring out my prayer before him, free love made him to answer me with these words, "The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the glory of the former," for which I desire to praise him for ever and ever.
