Coming to Christ is believing on him. John vi. 35. He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. One Expression is design’d to explain the other. This is a frequent and familiar Expression in Scripture, to set forth that Faith whereby convinced Sinners receive and rest upon Jesus Christ alone for Salvation. And the Reason of this Description of Faith is, because all Unbelievers are at a Distance from God, and from Jesus Christ, Eph. ii. 13. Ye that were sometime afar off, are made nigh by the Blood of Jesus Christ. But true Faith is a coming home to Jesus Christ, and to God by him.
