The same infinite Grandeur of his Person, made his obedience to the Law as the condition of Heaven for us, a more honorable proof of the immovable Divine purity, enduring nothing less than Perfection as the condition of Heaven, than if all Mankind had kept the Law themselves, and claim'd heaven by their own perfection. In this form, the Law is executed, and yet the Transgressor pardoned. Heaven, shut against all but Perfect Obedience, now opens to admit Sinners full of Imperfection. And Hell, open to receive the least Offender, now refuses to admit the Greatest, availing himself of this Redemption. Thus the Character of GOD is preserved, the rule of Virtue not relaxed, and Justice and Mercy at once equally and immensely display'd, in the Victory obtained through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
