He should pray for the assisting Spirit and Grace of God to be granted to himself, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are of ourselves by no Means sufficient for the due Accomplishment of this great Ministry. But as we receive our Ministry from Christ, so from and through him, we must receive Grace and Strength to fulfil it: Which is to be received by Means of earnest, humble, and continual Prayer. If we promote the Designs of the Gospel in the World, it is to the Praise of divine assisting Grace that we do effect it; and therefore all our Endeavors to fulfil the Duties of our Office must be with continual Dependance on the Spirit of Christ, and Prayer for it.
